Storage Container FAQs
General Questions
Our containers are ideal for temporary or long-term storage of furniture, equipment, tools, supplies, inventory, or household goods. They’re also great for construction sites, relocations, or seasonal storage.
Cape Cod Trailer Storage does not allow hazardous or illegal materials of any kind to be stored in our storage containers.
Our most popular sizes are 10 feet, 20 feet and 40 feet in length.
- 10-Foot Containers: Compact and convenient for smaller storage needs.
- 20-Foot Containers: A versatile, standard size suitable for everything from residential projects to business storage.
- 40-Foot Containers: Ideal for larger-scale storage or moves, offering space for bulky items and equipment. Commercial sites only.
Within these sizes, we also have different door configurations, such as standard doors, side doors, double doors, and high-cube options that provide extra vertical space. By offering ISO-grade steel containers instead of lightweight, box-style units, we ensure your belongings are protected and secure.
We offer strong steel ISO shipping containers in a variety of sizes and configurations to suit your storage needs. Our containers are built to ISO standards for superior durability, security, and weather resistance.
Rental Process Questions
You can either submit your request on our website here or give us a call at 508-362-2721 and we will be more than happy to assist you!
You can keep your container for as long as you need – we do not require any long-term contracts. Our minimum rental period is 4 weeks. However, you can keep the unit as long as you need after the minimum rental period. The lease will automatically bill every 4 weeks until you request for us to pickup the unit. If you are planning to keep the storage container long-term, Cape Cod Trailer Storage also offers a discounted rate for yearly rental contracts for storage containers.
Delivery & Pick up Questions
We can typically deliver your container within as little as 48 hours—depending on availability and location. If you’d prefer to schedule your delivery weeks or even months in advance, we’re happy to accommodate that too. Our goal is to provide flexible, convenient delivery options that fit your timeline.
We typically deliver and set up your container within 15 to 45 minutes. However, we may take a bit longer if we need to ensure the container is placed exactly where you want it. Our priority is making sure you’re satisfied with the final placement, so we’ll take as much time as necessary to get it just right.
To ensure our equipment remains safe and operational, we deliver only on dry and firm ground. Don’t worry – we will contact you if there are any issues with a scheduled delivery.
A hard, compact surface is necessary to support a container. Using railroad ties or pre-treated lumber can provide additional support and facilitate airflow under the container’s floor, which is important for maintaining its condition, but not necessary.
Our storage containers come in 40-foot, 20-foot and 10-foot lengths. They are delivered on flatbed vehicles where the container slides off like a dumpster. The side with the doors can face either way on the delivery vehicle.
- The truck that delivers the 20-foot containers and 10-foot containers needs a relatively straight shot of around 60 feet in order to drop a 20-foot container and about 50 feet for a 10-foot container.
- The truck that delivers a 40-foot storage container needs about 120 feet of a straight shot to deliver a 40-foot container.
Also, because of the configuration of the delivery vehicle, the site needs a fairly wide driveway in order to enter the property.
We deliver the storage container to your site on a flat bed ramp truck. The driver will back into the area and tilt the bed about 15 feet in the air. Then the storage container will slide off the trailer onto the ground. The driver will need to pull straight out from under the container.
We would prefer that you are present during the delivery to identify the correct place to park the unit on your property as well as to verify the condition of the container.
Yes, we can move a loaded 20’ container. We have the ability to pick up and relocate loaded 20’ containers without tipping them so that your contents don’t slide. To move a loaded 20’ container, at the time of delivery, you will need to have a clear space that is 20’ wide and 60’ long (and straight) for the delivery truck to maneuver. We also need 14′ height clearance. We use a side loading truck with a hydraulic crane to move loaded containers instead of our tilt-loading ramp trucks, which we use to deliver and pick empty containers.
